Little Needles, Big Results.

Recently I was commisioned to photograph Deborah Croan L.Ac. at her Temescal Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine practice.

I confess I can’t usually bear to look at needles, especially when they are heading into my body, so it was fascinating, from the viewpoint of my lens, to see acupuncture being performed on somebody else. I have a friend who describes acupuncture needles as being like little teeny kitten whiskers, which is a comforting and apt vision of my own experience of acupuncture. If you have never tried it, rest assured that in reality it isn’t scary at all.

Soft colours, soft focus, after my own acupuncture and Chinese medicine session with Deborah I felt so relaxed, it was all I could do to drag myself away from her office to go back to work. It’s a very calming experience.

In these pictures not only can you see how tiny the needles are, you can also see Deborah performing Moxibustion and Cupping – two ancient techniques she performs as part of her holistic approach. Discover more about her different treatments at this link.

If you are interested in learning more about her practice and techniques, Deborah will be giving a presentation about her business this coming Wednesday, December 13th 2017, at the ‘Best of the Bay’ meeting in Piedmont. Find out more about how to sign up and what to expect from this local business group, please check out this link. Let me know if you have any questions!
