The rally was to call out Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf’s refusal to address police terror, which has resulted in the murders of eight Black people in and around Oakland in the last two years and to express outrage toward the agenda of the incoming Trump administration and demand that Oakland enact policies that will prevent ongoing racist violence in the city in the years ahead.
